Overview of Famous Paris Hotels

Welcome to the “Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous” in Paris! At the Four Season George V. Photo: Forbes Magazine.
- Four Seasons Hotel George V = Located by the Arc de Triomphe & Champs-Elysees. Hugh Hefner brought his “Girls Next Door” here: Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt, & Kendra Wilkinson. Elizabeth Taylor honeymooned at the George V, & the Beatles famously finished a song in one of their suites. Gwyneth Paltrow & the Kardashians enjoy their five-star spa. Penelope Cruz has also stayed at this very famous hotel. Check prices here.
- The Ritz Paris = The Last Hotel Princess Diana Ever Visited. Founded in 1898, the Ritz has some serious history: Coco Chanel lived here for a decade. You can still stay in her suite today. Ernest Hemingway was a frequent guest; their lounge bar is named after him. And sadly, it was the last hotel Princess Diana ever visited, with Dodi Fayed: they dined here on the night of their tragic car accident ~ as shown in “The Crown.” In spite of this sad history, The Ritz’s location is still one of the best in town, & great for couples on a romantic getaway…
- Le Meurice – Dorchester Collection = Chic Spot Loved by the Fashion Crowd + Young Hollywood. This is a favorite hotel of European royalty ~ but it’s also a favorite with Hollywood royalty, such as Elizabeth Taylor & Orson Welles. Beyonce & Jay-Z have stayed here, & Justin Bieber was reportedly kicked out during his stay! Kristen Stewart, Kim Kardashian, Anna Wintour, & supermodel Kate Moss have all stayed here. Their chic restaurant was also featured in “Emily in Paris.”
- The Shangri-La Paris = Beyonce’s Favorite Paris Hotel ~ Set Right by the Eiffel Tower! If you want to stay next to the Eiffel Tower, & get incredible photos: THIS is your hotel. Legendary burlesque star Dita Von Teese has posed for photos in their lush gardens, & Beyonce & Jay-Z LOVE staying here ~ in a Terrace Suite with iconic Eiffel Tower views. Other stars who’ve stayed here include Oprah Winfrey, Zendaya, & Tom Holland. Also, don’t miss breakfast at their incredible restaurant!
- Hotel Plaza Athenee = Famous Champs-Elysees Hotel Featured in “Sex & the City.” If this hotel looks familiar: that may be because it’s where Carrie Bradshaw & Mr. Big (aka Sarah Jessica Parker & Chris Noth) reunited once & for all in the finale of “Sex & the City.” Other famous guests include Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Marlene Dietrich, Grace Kelly, Sophia Loren, Nicole Richie, & Natalie Portman. The hotel is famous for its red awnings, geranium-filled balconies, & more iconic Eiffel Tower views (as seen in the photo below).

My wife loves Sex and the City, and I wanted to surprise her with a romantic trip to Paris – staying in the same hotel that Sarah Jessica Parker did. Your article was a great resource! Found exactly the information I was looking for, and my wife couldn’t believe the research I did. We had a great time, and especially loved their garden restaurant, Le Cour Jardin. Much thanks from a happy husband.
