Where Did Hannah The Bachelorette Stay in Scotland?

Once “The Bachelorette” starts traveling internationally ~ that’s when things start getting real good.  And it’s when this blog intersects two of my passions: travel & “The Bachelor!”  After leaving behind Rhode Island this week, the franchise took us somewhere they never have before: bonnie Scotland.  After all the drama we’ve seen surrounding Luke P. in the past few weeks, the rugged yet peaceful Scottish highlands seem like the perfect place to ditch all that drama (& by that, I mean ditch him).  So, let’s dissect last night’s episode & find out: “Where did Hannah The Bachelorette Stay in Scotland?”

A few castles were featured in last night’s episode of “The Bachelorette,” but they only stayed in one.  And that was: Achnagairn Castle ($100+/night).  You can stay there too, as Achnagairn is a five-star hotel.  Then there’s the estate where the “Highland Games” were filmed: Leys Castle (which is only open for large events, not as a hotel).  And finally, they also filmed at Brodie Castle ~ for the night portion of Mike & Luke’s (awful) date, & it’s open year-round for guided tours.

Achnagairn Castle

Set seven miles outside of Inverness, Achnagairn Castle is a five-star hotel that was built in 1812, & is set on 30 lush acres of Scottish countryside.  It BLOWS my mind that you can stay in a castle like this for around $100/night??!!  If you stay, there are three different types of accommodation: 1) You can stay in the castle itself, which has 24 rooms; 2) During the summer months, you can stay in its boutique hotel, which has 21 rooms; or 3) You can stay in one of its seven “Luxury Lodges,” which have a total of 38 bedrooms, & are meant for larger groups.

It’s easy to see why Achnagairn is a major UK wedding destination!

If you visit Achnagairn, you can also enjoy an “Outlander Experience.”  Outlander is another popular show set in & around Inverness, & the hotel can direct you to a tour of popular filming locations!

Other Cool Scottish Castles…

If you’re visiting the Inverness area, there’s a very famous island castle called Eilean Donan that’s just a two-hour drive from Inverness….& it’s an absolute MUST-SEE!!  It’s the most iconic & recognizable castle in all of Scotland, & the really good news is: you can actually spend the night there too!

Or just take a tour…
