Where to Stay in Springdale by Zion
My family just returned from a trip to Zion….taking a bucket list hike through The Narrows & loving it! And two years ago, I visited Zion for the third time: my friends & I hiked iconic Angels Landing. Everything about the trip was amazing. BUT: we HATED our hotel in Springdale! We stayed at Zion Canyon Lodge, & didn’t like anything about it (my friend thought she’d booked us a room IN the park ~ but that is Zion Lodge). So I made a point to research other hotels, so I’d know where to stay next time! On that note, let’s find out “Where to Stay in Springdale by Zion National Park.”

After hikes like The Narrows, it’s amazing to come back to a comfy bed & a great hotel!
🚨 Before You Book a Springdale Hotel…
Springdale is the best choice if you want to be close to Zion — but you’ll pay more for that convenience. If your priority is saving money, look at La Verkin or Hurricane instead. I’ve stayed at pet-friendly La Quinta Inn & Suites in La Verkin, & it was very comfortable with large rooms.
💡 My advice: For a short Zion trip, I’d spend more to stay in Springdale. You’ll save time, avoid unnecessary driving, and can walk/shuttle to the park.
⭐ In a Rush? Here are My Top 3 Zion Hotels:
🥾 Cable Mountain Lodge — Closest to Zion + Best Overall
🌿 Cliffrose by Hilton — Best for Families + Riverfront Setting
👨👩👧 Montclair at Zion — Spacious Villas + Kitchens
🚨 Visiting during Zion’s peak season of May – September? Springdale’s best hotels book up quickly. Check availability before your dates disappear!
Overview of Zion Hotels
Hotels below are listed in order: from the CLOSEST to the park, moving to those slightly further away.

Zion Lodge is the only hotel IN the park!
- Zion National Park Lodge ($$$) = The Only Hotel Actually IN Zion National Park: Once again: do NOT confuse this hotel with Zion Canyon Lodge. Zion Lodge is actually IN the park, & books up quickly. There’s a Main Lodge + rustic cabins (shown above), & they have a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, & dinner.
- **Cable Mountain Lodge ($$) = Top High-End Hotel in Springdale + Close to Park Entrance: This is the closest hotel to the South Entrance, & you’re just steps from the shuttle, which takes you right into the park. They’ve got a market, restaurant, spa, breakfast, beautiful outdoor pool, & VIEWS!!! Major views from the pool area & many rooms. An amazing staff puts them right at the top of hotels by Zion. Check prices here.
- Cliffrose Springdale, by Hilton ($$) = Family-Friendly Riverfront Hotel on 5-Acres: Also located by Zion’s South Entrance, this is a great option for Hilton Rewards members. You’ve got a heated outdoor pool, waterfall hot tub, great kid’s sandbox, outdoor kitchen (that guests can use), fire pits, & pretty gardens with picnic tables & killer red rock views. They also serve breakfast on-site in their pretty Breakfast Room.
- Flanigan’s Resort & Spa ($$) = Boutique Hotel with Gorgeous Grounds + Hilltop Labyrinth! There’s a spiritual vibe here: you’ll find yoga mats in your room, or wander their pretty grounds up to the labyrinth. Enjoy luxury linens, a koi pond, day spa with hot tub, outdoor pool, & a great diner on-site that serves breakfast, lunch, & dinner. Great for girl’s trips or couples!
- Springhill Suites, by Marriott ($$) = Family-Friendly with Great Pool + Spacious Rooms. If big rooms are a priority: book here. This is an all-suite hotel, making it ideal for families & larger groups. All rooms have living areas with pull-out sofas; some rooms have balconies or patios. Parking & breakfast buffet are free, & there’s a nice outdoor pool, hot tub, & gym.

⚠️ Don’t Make My Zion Hotel Mistake!
I learned the hard way that not all “Zion” hotels are actually near the park entrance! I stayed at Zion Canyon Lodge and was disappointed because we had expected to be much closer to Zion, with better service.

🥾 My #1 Pick: Cable Mountain Lodge
If you’re visiting Zion primarily to hike, this is where I’d stay. You’re right by the park entrance and shuttle, so you’ll spend less time driving and more time hiking.

I enjoy the efforts you have put in this, thankyou for all the great posts. Stayed at Cable Mountain Lodge with my wife and we loved it, so close to the park, we were able to hike every day.
Great, love to hear that, Jason!
Our family of 4 stayed at the Springhill Suites and really enjoyed it. Room was plenty big for all of us and more luxurious than expected, plus the common areas are beautiful. Stunning mountain views. We would stay here again!
