Where to Stay in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter?
The Gothic Quarter is the medieval heart of Barcelona. With charming, winding streets, ancient stone walls, & major sights like the Barcelona Cathedral: this is a great place for travelers to base in the city. Extending from the ocean all the way up to Plaza Catalunya, this is the most central area in Barcelona ~ perfect for sight-seeing. If you’re a first-time visitor to the city: this is exactly where I’d stay. So the question is: where to stay in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter?

The Gothic Quarter is one of the most popular neighborhoods in Barcelona.

The Gothic Quarter looks like the perfect spot for our family’s first trip to Barcelona. Thank you for writing a succinct article that isn’t overwhelming with information!
You’re welcome, Odessa ~ so glad this article was helpful for you! xoxo
Planning a trip to Barcelona with my mom and sisters – we were looking for a hotel with a great rooftop view, and H10 Madison looks like exactly what we’re looking for! Surprised that it’s quite reasonably priced. Do you think we need theft-proof purses in Barcelona? We’ll be doing a lot of walking, and don’t want anything stolen!
Hi Soleil, glad you guys found a great hotel! The views from H10 are incredible!! So yes: Barcelona is one city where I’d ABsolutely bring a theft-proof purse (one where the strap can’t be cut). When sitting at outdoor cafes, I’d keep your purse physically on you ~ don’t put it under the table (that’s how mine was stolen!) or on one of those purse hanging trees. There are expert child thieves in the city who are MASTERS at theft, unfortunately. Also, only bring out 1 credit card and a little bit of cash, so that if something is stolen: you won’t have everything taken. Hope that helps! xoxo
