One of the top things to do by Amsterdam in the spring is of course….to visit the famous tulip fields!  As the tulips in my own yard are already starting to push up (we had a warm winter!). it made me think about famous tulip fields around the world.  And of course: the most famous ones are those by Amsterdam, which are called the Keukenhof Gardens, located in the town of Lisse.  If you’re looking to visit them this spring, let’s find out where to stay by Amsterdam’s tulip fields!

  • Boutique Suites Lisse ($$) = One of the Closest Hotels to Keukenhof Gardens!  If you’re looking for proximity to the gardens + a reasonable price: this is a great hotel option! Located directly across from the gardens, you’re set right in the town of Lisse here, making it easy to walk to shops + dining.  Rooms are stylish, plus there’s a cozy restaurant + bar + bike rentals!  This is the first place I’d check for rooms.  Check prices here

  • Hotel Villa Flora ($$) = Cute Budget Option 5 Minutes North of Tulip Fields:  Set in the town of Hillegom, just a few minutes north of Keukenhof Gardens, the restaurant here is a WINNER!  That’s reason enough to stop at this cute hotel.  Rooms are comfortable & stylish for the price, breakfast is served daily, & you can always stop into their cafe for lunch or some coffee.  A great, friendly budget option!

  • Van der Valk Hotel Sassenheim  ($$$) = A More High-End Option Near the Gardens:  Located about 10 minutes south of Lisse + Keukenhof Gardens, this is going to be a more modern choice than most of the hotel options in Lisse.  They also offer a Tulip Package!  Refined rooms offer rainfall showers, while suites offer sitting areas, fireplaces, & whirlpool tubs.  Try one of two elegant restaurants here, or check out their casino, gym, or sauna.  Check prices here.

  • De Groene Bollenschuur ($$) = Romantic Five-Room B&B with Gardens of their Own!  If you’re after something a little more intimate, but still close to the tulip fields: check out De Groene.  Run by a lovely couple, rooms here are sophisticated & offer garden views; relax on their sun terrace, or have a picnic out in their gardens.  This is a great spot for couples!  And you can also rent bikes here….
