Where to Brunch on Paris’ Swanky Right Bank

Paris has been on my mind lately….with the 2024 Olympics being held there, & as Europe is such a perennially-popular summer destination.  I’ve written about Paris’ great brunch spots: but I wanted to narrow that list down further ~ & break down where to brunch on Paris’ swanky Right Bank.  Major destinations on this side of the Seine include the Louvre, Tuilerie Gardens, famous shopping & strolling area: the Champs-Elysees, & the towering Arc de Triomphe.

Only in Paris will you find such cute brunch spots…

Right Bank (Rive Droite) = North of the River Seine, known for being more upscale & sophisticated. The Louvre, Tuilerie Gardens, & Sacre Coeur are all here ~ as are most of the city’s finest hotels….many of which are celebrity hot spots.

Left Bank (Rive Gauche) = South of the River Seine, this is the more artistic, bohemian side of Paris. With the lively Latin Quarter, beautiful Luxembourg Gardens, & universities like the Sorbonne: the Left Bank trends a little younger than the Right Bank. But there are still wonderful museums (like Musee D’Orsay), jazz clubs, & of course, the Eiffel Tower.

Many of the city’s most upscale hotels are located on the Right Bank….& two make my list for great hotel brunch spots: Shangri-La Paris & Hotel Plaza Athenee.

  1. 5 Pailles = All-Day Brunch by Gare de L’Est.  If you’re staying in the 10th Arrondissement, or headed to Gare de L’Est to catch a train: this is a great breakfast/brunch option.  This charming cafe has a small terrace, granola, pancakes, tartines, & all kinds of egg dishes to satisfy your breakfast needs.  Hours: Monday-Friday 9AM-4PM, Saturday & Sunday 10AM-4:30PM.
  2. Buvette Gastrotheque = Weekend Brunches by Sacre-Coeur in Pigalle District.  This place looks more like a wine bar than a brunch spot ~ but their weekend brunches are very popular…though offerings are more classic French fare than hearty American-style.  On weekdays, you can get some breakfast items starting at 9AM.  Hours: Saturday & Sunday 10:30AM-4:45PM.
  3. Cafe Mericourt = Casual ALL-Day Brunch Spot with Specialty Coffees.  A cute little cafe in the 11th Arrondissement (by the Picasso Museum), they offer Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, poached eggs, tartines, & a killer Breakfast Bun.  Hours: Tuesday-Friday 8:30AM-5PM, Saturday & Sunday 9:30AM-5PM.
  4. HolyBelly = Hip Breakfast Joint in Industrial-Chic Setting.  Located by Gare de L’Est, breakfast & lunch are served here ALL DAY here, & they’ve got everything from breakfast staples to more inventive fare. Try their Huevos Rancheros, Cold Pressed Juice, Chia Pudding, or Eggs Any Style.  Hours: 9AM-5PM DAILY.
  5. **La Bauhinia at the Shangri-La Hotel = Upscale Brunch with Outdoor Terrace & Eiffel Tower VIEWS.  One of the most high-end brunches on the list, La Bauhinia is approachable glamour, with a HUGE breakfast menu: all kinds of juices, fruits, egg dishes, French Toast, smoked salmon, & even some Asian dishes. This is a brunch to remember!!  Hours: 7AM-10:30AM DAILY.
  6. **Loulou Paris = More Lunch than Brunch, But a Gorgeous Museum Setting.  Set within the Musee des Artes, by the Tuileries Gardens & the Louvre, sure: this is more a lunch spot.  But the garden setting & classic Paris architecture will have you swooning…& make your Instagram followers jealous.  Hours: 12PM-2:30PM DAILY
  7. Hotel Plaza Athenee’s La Galerie Restaurant = Where to Savor an Opulent Sunday Brunch or High Tea.  Set within iconic Hotel Plaza Athenee (a favorite with celebs like Sarah Jessica Parker) is La Galerie ~ a great place to enjoy a leisurely brunch, or high tea with some of Paris’ most fashionable residents. Breakfast Served: 8AM-12PM DAILY.
  8. Edmond Restaurant at Terrass Hotel = Rooftop Brunch with VIEWS to Die For…in Montmarte!  Located at the top of Terrass Hotel, is Edmond Restaurant, which features incredible, panoramic views of Paris.  And they also have a delicious breakfast buffet for 25 Euros! Book ahead here.  Breakfast Hours: 7AM-10:30AM DAILY.
