Where Do Celebrities Stay in Nice, France?
Every time I’ve visited the South of France: Nice was my first stop. It’s home to the largest airport in the region (aside from Marseille), & puts you within easy reach of many glittering French Riviera destinations…like Cannes, St. Tropez, Monaco, & lesser-known but stunning spots like the Gorge du Verdon. The Cannes Film Festival has attracted Hollywood stars for years, & the whole region is a magnet for the rich & famous. Here, we’ll answer the question: “Where Do Celebrities Stay in Nice, France?”
I’ve chosen the top three hotels below where you’re most likely to run into celebrities. The bad news: they’re quite expensive. As in, over $1,000/night. But one hotel on the list runs around $595/night ~ & it’s right on the Promenade in Nice…letting you people-watch away.
And that hotel is Le Negresco. More on it below….

Overview of Celebrity Hotels in Nice
- Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat ($5,200+/night) = Filming Location for “Emily in Paris” & Longtime Celeb Haunt. Built in 1908, this hotel has been drawing royalty & celebrities for over 100 years. Everyone from Elizabeth Taylor to Coco Chanel has stayed here, along with Pablo Picasso, Charlie Chaplin, Winston Churchill, Elton John, & Bono ~ frontman for U2. Most recently, an episode of “Emily in Paris” was filmed here. Located at the edge of a stunning peninsula, this hotel has some of the most sweeping views of the Mediterranean….& their pool’s setting takes full advantage.
- Le Negresco ($595+) = Famous Oceanfront Hotel Located on Nice’s Promenade. If it’s good enough for Queen Elizabeth II…then it’s probably good enough for you & me! The Duke & Duchess of Windsor have stayed here, as has Grace Kelly (former Princess of Monaco), Ava Gardner, Catherine Deneuve, James Dean, & The Beatles. Part of what makes it so popular with stars is its famed art collection: they house over 6,000 pieces of art. If you want to be right in the mix of downtown Nice: Le Negresco is a good option….& much cheaper than the Grand Hotel du Cap-Ferrat!
- Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc ($1,150+) = The Most Famous Hotel in the South of France ~ Especially During Cannes Film Festival. During the Cannes Film Festival: this is THE place to be. You might run into Beyonce, Kendall Jenner, Sharon Stone, Kate Moss, Clint Eastwood, Colin Firth, Robert DeNiro, Johnny Depp, or Italian siren, Monica Belluci. Back in the day, this was a favorite spot for Jackie Kennedy. Set in Antibes (like the recent hit, “The Idea of You,” starring Anne Hathaway & Nicholas Galitzine), & close to Nice’s International Airport: this is another peninsula location…with incredible, panoramic ocean views.
“The most spectacular hotel in the Côte d’Azur (& perhaps all of France)! Spectacular isn’t enough to describe this place. There aren’t many places I can picture myself coming back to every year, but we agreed that Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc is one of them.”

“This place is SO unique in the best way! It has modern art next to 17th-century works. The service is wonderful. This part of Nice was amazing & very walkable! Beach is top-notch. Restaurants nearby were all amazing.
Can’t wait to stay here again!”

Set in a former 1908 villa, everyone from Winston Churchill to Elizabeth Taylor has stayed here. “Emily in Paris” stayed in the “Palace Sea-View Suite” ~ so if you want to re-create her trip, ask for this room!
“Had a wonderful stay at the Grand Hotel du Cap-Ferrat! It was my daughters 16th birthday, & the staff went out of their way to make it extra special for her. Service from the moment we arrived was exceptional.”
