Where Do Celebrities Stay in Marrakech?
Morocco is one of the most easily accessible African countries, particularly from Europe. Sitting right across from Spain & Portugal, Morocco attracts its fair share of celebrities: from David & Victoria Beckham (he celebrated his 40th birthday in Marrakech), to the Kardashians, Katy Perry, & Madonna. Famed designer Yves Saint Laurent also had a special connection to Marrakesh, as he purchased & restored the city’s beautiful Jardin Majorelle. So the question is: where do celebrities stay in Marrakech, Morocco?

The exotic colors & architecture of Morocco have long-attracted creatives, like YSL…

Overview of Marrakech Hotels

La Mamounia is the top hotel for celebrities in Morocco.
- La Mamounia ($1,900+) = The #1 Hotel for A-Listers in Marrakech: La Mamounia has a storied past, with visitors such as Winston Churchill (he loved to paint here), Nelson Mandela, Alfred Hitchcock, Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, The Rolling Stones, Jennifer Aniston, & of course ~ the Kardashians. Set on a former royal estate, this hotel is often referred to as an “Architectural Masterpiece.” It was also one of Yves Saint Laurent’s favorite places in the city. Check prices here.
A cheaper alternative close to La Mamounia: Nobu Hotel Marrakesh ($475+).
- Amanjena Resort ($1,500+) = Where Victoria & David Beckham Stay in Marrakech: David Beckham’s 40th birthday was held here, & he may have run into Katy Perry, John Legend, or Chrissy Teigen ~ they’ve all stayed here. The hotel offers 1 & 2-BR villas, many with private pools. Great for privacy; but note that Amanjena is located several miles outside of Marrakech’s downtown.
If you want to be closer to the action: El Fenn Hotel is located right in the medina, & is similarly swanky with an amazing rooftop bar.
- Riad Yasmine ($130+) = Top Hotel for Influencers in Marrakesh: While the hotels above are incredible ~ they may be out of many people’s price range. If that’s the case, check out Riad Yasmine, which was made famous by bloggers like The Blonde Abroad & Hey Nadine. Their turquoise pool (pictured below) has been shot from every angle, & it looks gorgeous in all of them.
But note: this place books out MONTHS in advance….so BOOK EARLY!!

If Riad Yasmine is sold out (which is likely), here are a few other Marrakech riads with gorgeous turquoise pools: BO Riad Boutique Hotel & Spa (near-identical pool to Yasmine for 1/2 the price), Palais Moulay Said & SPA (huge turquoise pool), or Riad Dar Saad Hammam & Spa, a 4-star hotel with 2 pools.

“Amanjena was by far the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. Amazing design & food. Staff were always on-the-spot instantly and very friendly. Food spoke for itself both: Italian and Moroccan cuisine. Views from the room were spectacular.”

Where Do Celebrities Stay in Morocco?
It’s easy to pair a trip to Morocco with a jaunt over to Spain or Portugal ~ as this is only an hour-long flight. It also puts you close to incredible islands like Mallorca & Ibiza, which make for an easy stopover before heading home…
