Overview of Cairo Hotels
- Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza ($350+) = The #1 Hotel for A-Listers in Cairo: Overlooking the famed Nile River, this hotel has hosted everyone from George Clooney to Sandra Bullock, Britney Spears, Morgan Freeman, Al Pacino, Pierce Brosnan, & Mel Gibson ~ to name a few. Their indoor pool & hammam are popular with stars, as is their gorgeous rooftop garden + 3 outdoor pools. And ironically, the Four Seasons is one of the most affordable in the luxury category here: providing great value for the money.
Stars also love their sister hotel: Four Seasons Hotel at the First Residence (pictured below).

- The Nile Ritz-Carlton ($890+) = Cairo’s Top Red-Carpet Events are Held Here: Besides playing host to many of Cairo’s most glamorous red carpets, the Nile Ritz-Carlton has a storied history: with guests like Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra, & former Egyptian President Nasser. Located right by the Nile River, the famous Egyptian Museum, & the Cairo Opera House: this hotel provides a great base for exploring the city.
Another great hotel close by with incredible Nile views, that’s more reasonably-priced: Kempinski Nile Hotel Cairo ($204+).

The Kempinski Nile Hotel is a fantastic, more affordable alternative to the Nile Ritz-Carlton ~ & located nearby. Photo: Kempinski.
- The Mena House Hotel ($1,050+) = Historic Five-Star Hotel by the Giza Pyramids: If you want to stay as close to the Pyramids as possible: check out The Mena House (now a Marriott property). Dating back to 1886, they’ve hosted dignitaries such as Winston Churchill, Agatha Christie (my favorite author), Barack Obama, Bill Clinton & countless heads of state, John Travolta, & Jane Fonda…again, just to name a few. This is the most expensive hotel on the list: but it also puts you within steps of one of the Great Wonders of the World. Check prices here.
If you have Marriott points: this is a great place to use them.

“Incredible location. The views from breakfast [at The Mena House] are breathtaking. If you get a room with a Pyramid View, it’s completely mesmerizing. The staff are incredibly kind.”
