Sooo….I have a love/hate relationship with Barcelona. On the plus side: it’s a gorgeous city with tons of culture, incredible buildings by Gaudi, & more nightlife than you could possibly squeeze into one trip. On the other hand: my purse was stolen by an expert child thief here! Which led to a series of misadventures & Embassy visits around Europe, so that I could finally make my flight back to the States. But that aside: Barcelona is still one of Spain’s top destinations, & it’s perennially popular with stars from all over the world. Here, we’ll find out: “Where Do Celebrities Stay in Barcelona?”

Overview of Famous Barcelona Hotels

- Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona ($$$) = Historic Hotel with Ties to Royalty & Famous Artists. Dating back to 1918, everyone from Queen Victoria to famous Spanish poets, Pablo Picasso, Ernest Hemingway, & screen siren Catherine Deneuve have all stayed here. Marble bathrooms & Nespresso machines await; suites offer terraces with hot tubs! Their rooftop pool & bar is a stand-out (pictured above).
- Hotel El Palace ($$$$) = Classic Barcelona Hotel with MORE Star-Sightings than Any Other. Cary Grant, Sophia Loren, Patrick Swayze, Madonna, Steven Spielberg, Michael Douglas, the Rolling Stones, former President Obama, & Bruce Springsteen have all stayed or dined here. Stars love their sun-drenched rooftop terrace, prime location (that’s walkable to nearly all major sights), & incredible service ~ that goes above & beyond.
- W Barcelona ($$$) = Its Nightclubs Attracts a Younger Celebrity Crowd. This hotel is famous for looking like a tall sailboat: you’ll never forget its iconic shape. Everyone from Arnold Schwarzenegger to Shakira & One Direction have all stayed here. If you want to dance all night, check out their clubs: Eclipse, Opium Barcelona, & Pacha…where famous DJ’s often play, especially in the summer.
- Hotel Arts Barcelona ($$$$) = Lady Gaga & Beyonce’s Top Choice in Barcelona…On the Beach! This is the tallest hotel in Barcelona: a skyscraper set right on the beach. It’s popular with singers like Ariana Grande, Beyonce, & Lady Gaga ~ plus Gwyneth Paltrow. Their Enoteca restaurant is led by celebrity chef, Paco Perez, & you’re likely to see a star or two dining here.
