Where Did Southern Charm Film in Puerto Vallarta?
The most recent Episode 12 of “Southern Charm’s” Season 11 saw the cast fly down to beautiful Puerto Vallarta….even though Austen & Craig still aren’t getting along! The episode is called, “Even Further South,” & it follows the previous episodes, where the cast stayed at Whitner’s family farm (called Itchy-Something ; ). I love when my favorite shows travel, & I love finding out where they stayed. So here, we’ll find out: where did “Southern Charm” film in Puerto Vallarta?

**Author’s Note: Ironically, I wrote this article just DAYS before violence erupted in & around Puerto Vallarta. Flights were disrupted on February 22 & 23rd, 2026 due to cartel violence following the death of drug kingpin, “El Mencho.”
If you are currently in Puerto Vallarta or plan to travel soon: avoid fake news. Go directly to the U.S. State Department website for current travel advisories. Puerto Vallarta is listed as a “Level 3” right now, which means to “Reconsider Travel.”
It is not yet at a “Level 4,” which would be the highest security warning.
Something else to do, if you plan to travel to Puerto Vallarta soon: look at live webcams from the city. While the news keeps showing images of the same burnt-out cars: with live webcams, you can see what’s ACTUALLY happening right now in the city. For instance, when I looked at the Puerto Vallarta airport webcam on February 22nd: there were NO cars on the road, which was very eerie. Today, you’ll see a steady flow of cars, indicating that the airport is back up & running.
Finally, if you have travel plans to Puerto Vallarta: call your hotel for up-to-date information. Most of the resorts seem unaffected, but my biggest question would be: can I safely get from the airport to the resort? Are taxis & rideshare services back up & running? If not, I would reconsider my trip.
These are questions to ask before you travel to Mexico, so you don’t get stuck in a bad situation.

Where Southern Charm Stayed in Mexico
In Season 11, Episode 12 of “Southern Charm,” the cast (minus Madison) fly down to beautiful Puerto Vallarta & check into Casa Velas Adults-Only All Inclusive Resort, which is located close to the Puerto Vallarta International Airport, in the Marina District. It’s not set right on the beach, like their sister property Velas Vallarta. But it is set on lush, tropical grounds with winding paths, gardens, & a huge pool as the focal point of the property.
And of course, a swim-up bar!
The resort is set on the Marina Vallarta Golf Club, making it a good destination for those who enjoy golfing. Shep & the guys stayed in the Presidential Suite, while other cast members stayed in the Ambassador Suite + other rooms.

Where Did Southern Charm Dine in Mexico?
At the end of the episode, the cast heads to town for dinner at Casa Kimberly Boutique Hotel. Set on a small hill, Casa Kimberly has incredible ocean views: this is a perfect place for a romantic sunset dinner in Puerto Vallarta. The cast have welcome drinks in the famous Elizabeth Taylor Suite; she & Richard Burton used to live here!
Then they head downstairs for dinner & sunset photos on the beautiful balcony.

Since the cast started filming in April 2025 & ended filming in July 2025: they were definitely in Puerto Vallarta during its rainier, more humid season. The weather in Puerto Vallarta is better from November thru April, when it’s drier with less rain ~ & average temperatures in the 70’s & 80’s.
