Where Did Emily in Paris Film in Venice?

“Emily in Paris” Season 5 just dropped, right in time for some Christmas binge-watching!  I’ve already written about where the show filmed in Italy during the previous Season 4.  But in Season 5, they return to Rome & Venice for several episodes ~ with some amazing filming locations.  Episode 10 is one of the best, taking place in Venice for Marcello’s fashion show.  I found the Venice locations especially spectacular, so here we’ll do a quick run-down of where “Emily in Paris” filmed in Venice!

Where Did Emily in Paris Film in Venice?

Episode 10 is when the gang heads to Venice, for Marcello Muratori’s debut at Venice Fashion Week (in case you’re wondering, Venice Fashion Week IS a real thing)!  Below, we’ll break down all the best locations from this episode…

• The episode opens with Emily, Marcello, Mindy, & Nico cruising the canals of Venice in a water taxi.  They’re headed to the site for Marcello’s show, which was filmed at real-life Church of San Francesco della Vigna.  You can visit & tour this church if you’re in Venice.
• Later, Emily & Marcello check into the St. Regis Hotel, a stunning luxury hotel set right on the Grand Canal.  Rooms run about $800/night, & it’s a popular hotel with celebrities. 
• Emily & Mindy then lunch canal-side with aperol spritzes at Club del Doge, a restaurant located at the luxurious, five-star hotel: Gritti Palace.  This hotel is now a Marriott property, set in a lavish 15th-century palazzo on the Grand Canal.
• Marcello & Emily later dine along the canal at Moro Venice, with its iconic green umbrellas.  Emily is wearing a red lace outfit, & is expecting Marcello to propose….but he doesn’t!  Directly after, Emily meets up with Mindy again at Gio’s, the restaurant inside the St. Regis, which has INCREDIBLE views of Venice’s white Basilica!
• The fashion show after-party is filmed at Hotel Danieli’s gorgeous outdoor restaurant: Terrazza Danieli.  With a wide space overlooking the canals, this is the perfect setting for all the drama that’s about to unfold…

More Season 5 Filming Locations in Rome…

While I found the Venice locations most memorable, Episodes 1-4 start out with some great Rome filming locations: including several amazing rooftop restaurants that I’d love to visit! 

Two of the best are Zuma Rome & Settimo, at the Sofitel Hotel.

• Episode 1:  Sylvie has a gorgeous rooftop lunch with her Italian beau at Zuma Rome, located inside Palazzo Fendi Private Suites ~ a luxury hotel that sits above the brand’s flagship store.  Princess Minnie Driver later welcomes Agence Grateau with a party at Villa Parisi, a real-life hotel located north of Rome, on the sea.
• Episode 2:  Antoine delivers his new fragrance pitch to Muratori inside Hotel de Russie’s insanely gorgeous garden restaurant (this hotel is uber-popular with stars, like Taylor Swift).  The fragrance is then launched at La Posta Vecchia, where Mindy sings inside of a martini glass.  La Posta Vecchia is another stunning seaside hotel, located just outside of Rome.
• Episode 3:  Luc famously stays at a convent in Rome.  While you can’t stay at the convent where they filmed, you can stay at Casa Per Ferie Suore Salesiane, which is located by the Colosseum.  Mindy performed her dance number for “Ballando, Ballando” at Teatro Dell’Opera di Roma.  Then Mindy & Alfie start their affair at Orient Express La Minerva Hotel, a 17th-century mansion located by the Pantheon.
• Episode 4:  The majority of this episode is filmed in the fake town of Solitano, which is actually Ostia Antica.  Luc’s tumultuous two-lover lunch fiasco takes place at the Sofitel Hotel’s rooftop restaurant, called Settimo.
