What Restaurants are Popular on Southern Charm?

Season 11 of “Southern Charm” is back on, & it happens to coincide with the fact that my friends & I just returned from an EPIC girl’s trip to Charleston!  We ate & drank our way around the city, trying restaurants like swanky Husk in downtown, plus a fabulous brunch on Sullivan’s Island (where Shep just bought a multi-million dollar home).  When planning our meals, it would’ve been handy to have a quick guide to know what restaurants are popular on “Southern Charm!” 

Here’s that quick guide for you….

Where Does the “Southern Charm” Cast Dine in Charleston?

• By the Way – Craig & Austen’s bar/restaurant in North Charleston, where many of the cast hang out: including Madison LeCroy, Venita, & Molly even sings (or plays tuba) here!
• The Commodore – Live music joint co-owned by Shep Rose.
• Republic – Nightclub owned by cast member Leva, & featured on the show “Southern Hospitality.” 
• Bourbon N’ Bubbles – Another Leva-owned hot spot on King Street. 
• Halls Chophouse – One of the most popular restaurants in Charleston, famous for their Sunday gospel brunches; this is Madison LeCroy’s favorite restaurant in Charleston.
• Charleston Beer Works – Popular hangout of Craig, Shep, & Austen (when they’re getting along); located across the street from Craig’s store, Sewing Down South.
  • Sewing Down South – Craig’s shop on King Street; he makes frequent stops here when in town. 
  • Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit – Popular biscuit place also located across from Sewing Down South; popular casual spot for cast members to pop into. 

  **Two Hotels Close to Craig’s Sewing Down South Store: The Dewberry Charleston (famed for their amazing Citrus Club rooftop bar) & Hotel Bennett…two of the nicest hotels in town.

• The Citrus Club – Gorgeous rooftop restaurant on top of the swanky Dewberry Hotel (a great place to run into all kinds of celebrities ~ not just the “Southern Charm” cast).
• Husk – My friends & I brunched here on our recent girl’s trip; it’s upscale & fabulous, & has hosted many “Southern Charm” stars (Miss Patricia & Madison LeCroy would fit right in here)…
• Blind Tiger – Popular Charleston bar with a great outdoor garden area; Craig & Naomi have been seen here.  Located on Broad Street by Rainbow Row.
• Moe’s Crosstown Tavern – Mentioned in Season 11 of “Southern Charm,” two new cast members live by this NW Charleston pub: Whitner & Charley.
• 167 Raw – Popular oyster bar on King Street that the cast frequents.
• Uptown Social – Austen & Craig have been spotted here many times, & the photo below shows Madison, Venita, & Molly filming a scene for “Southern Charm” there.

Where Does “Southern Charm” Dine OUTSIDE of Charleston?

• Red’s Ice House – Paige DeSorbo’s favorite Mount Pleasant/Shem Creek waterfront seafood spot (across the Ravenel Bridge from Charleston).
• NICO Oysters & Seafood – Another Shem Creek spot owned by former cast member Naomi & her family; has been featured on “Southern Charm” many times. Located by Red’s Ice House.
• Obstinate Daugher – Popular lunch & dinner spot on Sullivan’s Island
• Poe’s Tavern – A Sullivan’s Island mainstay (close to Shep’s new home), great for a relaxed drink; named for author Edgar Allen Poe. 
• Hometeam BBQ – Miss Patricia & several other “Southern Charm” cast members have been spotted here.

Restaurants on Season 11 of “Southern Charm”

Venita & her mom meet at ADORABLE Zachary’s Daiquiris in Episode 8!

• Season 11, Episode 3 = Madison & Austen meet for a catch-up sesh at King Claw – Juicy Seafood & Bar, which is off the highway, west of Charleston proper.
• Episode 4 = Later in the episode, Shep & Molly meet at Broken Leash Dog Park & Bar for a romp with the pups ~ which is located a good deal north-west of Charleston. 
• Episode 6 = At the beginning of the episode, Venita & Sally meet at a hip bar called Tempest ~ which is located right by Market Street & the famous Charleston Horse Carriage tours (my friends & I loved our tour).  Later, Charley meets up with her family at a Mexican restaurant north of Charleston called Rancho Lewis.  Then, Craig meets up with Whitner at the restaurant he’s involved in with Austen, By the Way.  Later, the men dine at Miss Patricia’s house, which my friends & I learned is located close to the Wentworth Mansion.
• Episode 7 = Austen & Whitner (+ his dog) meet in North Charleston at a casual bar The Royal American.  Then Venita meets friends at a gorgeous rooftop deck on the water, at Islander 71 Fish House & Raw Bar.  This is located on the Isle of Palms (by Sullivan’s Island), & close to Wild Dunes Resort.  Later, the guys meet up for drinks at Share House, while the girls are slumber party’ing at Madison’s.
• Episode 8 = Venita & her mom meet at the cutest little place on Ann Street called Zachary’s Daiquiris ~ looks SO cute!!!  Later in the episode, after Rodrigo’s engagement party, the gang head in a limo back to Islander 71.
• Episode 9 = Craig & Austen have their EPIC BATTLE (& kind of celebrate Austen’s birthday..?) at Grill 225 steakhouse, which is located on Market Street, inside the Market Pavilion Hotel.

As Season 11 continues, I’ll update this article & add any more fantastic restaurants or filming locations!  As you can see, there are a MILLION great restaurants to try when you’re in Charleston…
