The Bachelor Filming Locations in Croatia
Clayton’s season of “The Bachelor” is…..a little bit underwhelming, to be perfectly honest. There’s been a lot of drama, a lot of (fake) tears, & a lead who doesn’t quite know how to handle dating 25 women. Which is why, as soon as they landed on the delightful little Croatian island of Hvar (one of my favorite places, incidentally), it was SUCH a breath of fresh air!! Something has been missing for me, watching the last few seasons of the show….& maybe what has been missing most, is TRAVEL. And the fact that they chose to film in my favorite European country, is why I had to write this post on “The Bachelor Filming Locations in Croatia!“

“The Bachelor” FINALLY made it to my favorite European country: CROATIA!!! Teddi & Clayton are pictured here walking & kissing through the streets of Hvar Town. Photo courtesy of ABC.
Map of Hvar Island
Hvar is one of thousands of islands off the coast of Croatia. The easiest way to reach Hvar is by flying into either Split International Airport or Dubrovnik International Airport (where they filmed “Game of Thrones”), then take a ferry over to Hvar.
My friends & I flew from Vienna to Dubrovnik, then took a three-hour ferry to Hvar Island.

Where Did They Stay in Hvar?
The resort the girls stayed at in Hvar is called the Amfora Hvar Grand Beach Resort ($108+), which is just a 10-minute walk from Hvar Town. This resort has one of the best locations on the island: it’s right above this perfect little bay with insanely gorgeous turquoise water. And I happen to know it intimately, as my friends & I passed it every day of our trip while walking from town over to our favorite beachside bar: Hula Hula Beach Club!

The Amfora Grand Beach Resort has one of the BEST locations in Hvar: you’re close to town ~ on one of the loveliest bays.
For just over $100 per night, you’ll find rooms with sea views, a private beach club, a beautiful & large outdoor pool with swim-up bar, & dining options on-site. That’s a LOT of value for such a reasonable price!

The pool alone is reason enough to book here ~ & they’re just a short 10-minute walk to Hvar Town along a beautiful coastline.

Wade over to the swim-up bar at Amfora’s beautiful pool area.

The only other location that really stands out from this episode is Clayton & Susie’s after-hours encounter at the clock tower. Their chemistry was apparent in spades ~ which was refreshing, because in most other encounters….chemistry seems to be lacking! If you ever visit Hvar, you can’t miss the clock tower: it stands right in the middle of Hvar Town.
And on one lovely June evening, my friends & I sat right beneath its shadow, having drinks at a nearby bar…

The clock tower in Hvar is located right in the heart of town, within the Palace Elisabeth Heritage Hotel.

My friends walking along the main drag in Hvar Town, at sunset, towards the clock tower…..
Spend the night where Susie & Clayton had their steamy clock tower encounter: at the historic Palace Elisabeth Hvar Heritage Hotel. This hotel is significant, as it dates back to the 13th-century, when it was built by the Venetians as the Duke’s Palace. You can stay here today for around $400 per night….

The Palace Elisabeth was the first five-star hotel ever built on the island! Its name comes from Austrian Empress Elisabeth, who helped sponsor the hotel’s construction.
