WHERE TO PLANTPeonies are long-lived and don't like being moved once planted. Peonies dazzle along walkways or as background plants for spring bulbs, and they pair beautifully with other plants in mixed borders. Position your Peonies where they will receive full sun to very light shade. While they can survive in moderate shade, they won't bloom as well and their stems will be weaker. Peonies prefer to be consistently moist throughout the season without becoming waterlogged so choose a location with well-draining soil, which means that puddles following a hard rain should drain off within a few hours. If you need to improve your soil’s drainage, you can amend it with generous amounts of compost. |
HOW TO PLANTPlant your Peonies in the fall at least one month before the ground freezes, typically between late September and October. While Peonies can also be planted in early spring, fall planting allows for faster and more vigorous growth the following summer.

I used it a memorial flower. It thrives with little attention and lots of glory! And it smells great!
This is the second Gardenia Peony that I have purchased from you.
The first came with three eyes that I was afraid were too dry, but I have three healthy shoots above ground now, and it is growing vigorously! YEAH!
This second root arrived looking like a strong root, but there are no eyes! My understanding from what I have read, is that this means I will have to wait 3-4 years for the peony to bloom, if/when the the root starts developing the eyes?
If so, I am disapointed. That is a long time to wait.
Thank you.
July... Still no shoots off the root of the second purchase
End of August... nothing
