Is There a Cheaper Alternative to CE Ferulic?

Ask any dermatologist what their top ingredients are for glowing skin ~ & guaranteed, Vitamin C will be right up there, along with retinols & hyaluronic acid.  Vitamin C reduces signs of aging, fights free radical damage, reduces hyperpigmentation, promotes collagen production, & acts as a topical antioxidant, protecting skin from further damage.  Of the many Vitamin C serums, Skinceuticals’ cult classic CE Ferulic has long been considered the “Gold Standard.”  But at $168 an ounce, it’s PRICEY!  We’ll find out here if there’s a cheaper alternative to this wildly popular CE Ferulic serum…

If you go to any esthetician & ask their opinion for the BEST performance skincare product on the market, chances are: they’ll tell you Skinceuticals CE Ferulic serum. Photo courtesy of Skinceuticals.

Vitamin C is “a potent antioxidant that can neutralize free radicals. Because of its antioxidant properties, Vitamin C aids your skin’s natural regeneration process, which helps your body repair damaged skin cells.”

Cheaper Alternatives to CE Ferulic

Below, I’m listing two cheaper alternatives to Skinceutical’s CE Ferulic serum:

  1. Advanced Skin Care’s 15% Vitamin C + E Ferulic Acid Serum,
  2. Dr. Dennis Gross Vitamin C + Lactic Firm & Brighen Serum.

Ingredients for Skinceuticals CE Ferulic Serum:  Water, Ethoxydiglycol, L-Ascorbic Acid, Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Laureth-23, Alpha Tocopherol, Phenoxyethanol, Triethanolamine, Ferulic Acid, Panthenol, & Sodium Hyaluronate.

Advanced Skin Care’s CE Ferulic has almost identical ingredients when compared to Skinceuticals.  So if you’re looking for the closest match, try that serum (at 1/3 the price)!  Dr. Dennis Gross is a respected dermatologist with a great line of products, & his Vitamin C serum is a little different, in that it’s combined with Lactic Acid, which he says multiplies the benefits of Vitamin C.  His serum is more expensive than Advanced Skin Care’s, but still half the price of Skinceuticals.
