How to Dress Like Meghan Markle on a Budget
The royal wedding of Prince Harry & Meghan Markle is right around the corner…happening on May 19th, 2018 at the oh-so-posh & quintessentially British, Windsor Castle. If you’ve been watching Netflix’s “The Crown” like I have, or love British culture, chances are you’ve taken an interest in this American girl who’s about to marry into the royal family. Whether you know anything about her or not, one thing is certain: her style is on POINT. Which is why I’m explaining here how to dress like Meghan Markle on a budget ~ just not a royal one!
We’ll take some of her most iconic looks & find great alternatives that won’t break the bank. In some cases, when there’s not a good budget option, I opted for a pricier version. But these are usually for “statement” pieces, like the Michael Kors leather jacket. Because let’s face it: cheap leather jackets just look cheap ~ & that is definitely not Meghan’s style!

Prince Harry & Meghan Markle represent the new face of the ever-changing monarchy.

Classic coats, solid colors, & chic, simple tailoring are hallmarks of Meghan Markle’s style ~ & they also make for an extremely photo-friendly look. The looks shown below are four of my favorite from Meghan, & we’ll break them down, finding chic, affordable options to replace them.

How to dress like Meghan Markle on a budget…
- Look #1 = Burberry Tartan trench coat + black, wide-leg trousers. The real thing will set you back over $1,000 ~ but this cute, shorter tartan trench will set you back less than $100.
- Look #2 = Tahari Wrap Coat ($149) + brown suede boots ($64).
- Look #3 = Simple black blazer ($32) + tailored black pants ($25) + black pumps ($56).
- Look #4 = White wrap coat ($105)+ strappy taupe pumps ($30).
The Perfect Little Red Dress…
One of my favorite Meghan Markle looks is also one of her simplest: the perfect red dress. Because red is such a statement color ~ Meghan chooses wisely by picking a cut that’s more feminine than outright sexy. Below are four classic red dresses with a similar vibe to Meghan’s look. They all come in multiple colors, & they’re all less than $50!

Meghan Markle’s Casual Look
For her & Harry’s public debut at the Invictus Games, Meghan opted for casual, understated chic, with stylish eye wear, a menswear-inspired shirt, distressed denim, & flats.

These are my favorite looks from Meghan: dressy & posh, but still with an air of casual to them. The last look, with its combination of soft feminine, white dress & tough black leather jacket, to me, is perfection. I love the all-denim look as well, but unfortunately couldn’t find a budget version of it!

Dressy casual looks that radiate polish & chic.
- Look #1 = I love this look, but unfortunately, can’t find a budget version. Every cheaper look just looks cheap to me.
- Look #2 = Black crop top ($14) + high-waisted black skirt ($18) + studded black pumps ($50).
- Look #3 = Strapless white dress ($26) + black leather jacket ($269) + metallic pumps ($85).
