Closest Hotels to Mount Bachelor by Bend
Though the days in Bend, Oregon are still summery, the evenings are getting chillier: indicating that winter is a’ coming. And with that comes one of the longest ski seasons in the country, at Central Oregon’s Mt. Bachelor. Just 30-minutes from Bend, Bachelor is the fifth-largest ski resort in the country ~ & it’s known by locals as a stellar intermediate mountain (though upper lifts offer tougher terrain). Whether you’re traveling to Bend & looking to ski, or are a local who wants to spend a weekend as close to the mountain as possible: here are the “Closest Hotels to Mount Bachelor by Bend.”

We were skiing powder until LATE MAY this year at Mt. Bachelor!!
GWTW Tip: If you’re hungry after skiing, check out some of Bend’s best food trucks…or if you’re headed up the mountain early, nab a great breakfast..

Mount Bachelor is 21 miles from Bend, & 19 miles from Sunriver ~ so essentially, the same distance. But the very closest hotel to the mountain is the Seventh Mountain Resort.

Overview of Hotels by Mt. Bachelor

Seventh Mountain is the absolute closest hotel to Bachelor, & their grounds are lovely with a “forest feel.”
1. Seventh Mountain Resort ($98+/night) = Family & Budget-Friendly Resort with Slightly Outdated Rooms = 15 miles from Mt. Bachelor: The absolute closest hotel to Bachelor is WorldMark’s Seventh Mountain Resort (pictured above). It’s not as luxurious as nearby Tetherow, but for a family ski getaway on a budget ~ this is a great choice. Rooms vary here; some haven’t been kept up as well as others…but the grounds are lovely & “in-the-forest feeling” with pools & hot tubs to relax in post-skiing. They offer everything from studios up to 3-BR condos, & most have kitchens ~ so good for large groups.
Check rates at Seventh Mountain here.
2. LOGE Bend ($76+/night) = Hip Budget-Friendly Adventure Base by Bike Trails = 18 miles from Mt. Bachelor: Just down the street from Seventh Mountain is the newer & hipper LOGE Bend. This hotel is geared towards adventure junkies, & you can hop on your bike directly from the hotel (they’ve got a bike rental shop right on-site & trails all around). There’s a pool & hot tub here, ski lockers, BBQ area with Traegers, & grassy lawn with hammocks. Great base for adventure-lovers who prefer community to luxury!

3. Tetherow Resort ($249+/night) = Luxury Golf Resort with Upscale Rooms, Restaurants, & VIEWS = 19 miles from Mt. Bachelor: If you’re looking for luxury near Bachelor, there’s really only one choice: Tetherow Resort. Perched on top of a hill with stunning, sweeping views of the Cascade Mountains (you can see all the way to Mt. Hood on a clear day), rooms here are especially well-appointed, pet-friendly, & views from many of its balconies are first-rate. Another thing that sets Tetherow apart is its fantastic on-site restaurants. After a long day on the mountain, simply walk from your room over to The Row (casual) or Solomon’s (fine dining) & enjoy great sunset views over their award-winning golf course.
Check rates at Tetherow here.
4. Sunriver Resort ($149+/night) = HUGE Family-Friendly Resort with Variety of Accommodations = 20 miles from Mt. Bachelor: Sunriver is one of my favorite summertime Oregon destinations ~ but it’s also just 20 miles to Bachelor, & their pretty hotel rooms are geared towards skiiers…as are many of their homes for rent. This is a great choice for families, couples, & both girl’s or guy’s getaways. The dining scene at Sunriver has less variety than in Bend; but on the flip side, staying at Sunriver really gives you the feel of being “on vacation.” Rooms at the resort are very comfortable (though not as lux as Tetherow); homes & condos are privately-owned & thus can vary greatly in quality & amenities.

Sunriver is both a great summer AND winter destination: & just 20 miles from Mt. Bachelor (the furthest-left mountain in this photo).

Gather round one of LOGE’s fire pits after riding at Bachelor.

Hipster & unique: that’s how I would describe LOGE. They’ve got a cute cafe on-site & easy access to hiking & biking trails.

Rent bikes right on-site at LOGE or enjoy their cute cafe. This is an easy place to meet people!
Adventure-lovers, young couples, & solo travelers will enjoy the communal feel of LOGE Bend.
Photos of Tetherow & Sunriver Resorts

Rooms at Tetherow are large & very well set-up, even for longer stays. Most have balconies ~ ask for one that faces the mountains!

My friend Mike on a golf-board at Tetherow Golf Course; behind him are panoramic views of the Sisters Mountains west of Bend.

Tetherow has great restaurants that take FULL advantage of the spectacular mountain views; The Row is pictured here (casual dining).

Rooms at Sunriver Resort have been recently updated & are very comfortable.

I took this shot while biking some of Sunriver’s 40+ MILES of beautiful, paved bike trails: the overall ambience here is hard to beat.

Our family is trying to decide between staying at Seventh Mountain or Tetherow. Price isn’t a huge concern. How big is the difference in the quality of the rooms? Thanks, Sam
Hey Sam, you’re definitely on the right track: Seventh Mountain & Tetherow are two of the closest hotels to Mt. Bachelor. In my opinion, the quality of the rooms at Tetherow is FAR higher than those at Seventh Mountain. Tetherow is newer, & there’s more consistency in quality, as all rooms are managed by the hotel. Seventh Mtn is more of a mixed bag, & older ~ & there’s just going to be a LOT more inconsistency in terms of room quality & furnishings, etc. If price isn’t an object, I’d definitely go with Tetherow. Plus they’ve got great food on-site, & views here are AMAZING. Hope that helps! xoxo
