Best Ski-in Ski-Out Resorts in Telluride
I’ve written a lot about Colorado’s best ski resorts, from Aspen to Breckenridge, & ever-popular Vail. What’s the problem with all these resorts though? They can be SUPER CROWDED!! If you’re looking for a more off-the-beaten-path, yet luxurious ski trip: Telluride just might be your perfect mountain. With its gorgeous mountains, out-of-the-way location, quirky town, & high-end lodging ~ you’ll find a wonderful ski experience here….with a LOT less people. To get as close to the mountain as possible, here are the best ski-in ski-out resorts in Telluride!

Telluride is one of the most beautiful ski towns in Colorado.
Telluride has been popular with celebrities for years: Tom Cruise & Oprah both own homes here, & the town’s Film Festival attracts stars like Ethan Hawke, Laura Linney, & Dakota Johnson.
How to Get to Telluride: Because Telluride is a longgg 6-hour drive from Denver, your best bet is to fly into Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ) ~ which is still 65 miles from Telluride. You can find direct flights to Montrose from San Francisco, LAX, Denver, Phoenix, Houston, Chicago, & New York.

Splurged on a long ski weekend at the Madeline with my girlfriend. It was the perfect getaway for us. We really enjoyed the remote feeling and natural beauty of Telluride. Is there another Colorado resort town that you can recommend for a similar feel? Thanks, Dave
Hi Dave, thanks for your comment! And glad you guys enjoyed The Madeline. So, if you’re looking for another Colorado ski town that’s got a remote feel & amazing natural beauty: I’d look towards Crested Butte. Its remote location really keeps the crowds away, & it’s got a little more down-to-earth feel even than Telluride. Beaver Creek also has a nice “tucked-away” kind of feel (compared to the crowds of Vail). Hope that helps! xoxo Noelia
That’s fantastic, Kate! Love to get feedback like this : ) xoxo
