Crested Butte is one of those ski resorts that’s just off-the-beaten path, & surrounded by fantastic mountian scenery ~ similar to Telluride.  It’s one of Colorado’s least pretentious towns, filled with rugged charm.  And it’s harder to reach than resorts like Vail, which keeps the crowds away.  Though the mountain is known for expert terrain, more than half of its terrain is still beginner & intermediate runs: so this is truly a resort for everyone.  Here, we’ll cover the “Best Ski-in Ski-out Resorts in Crested Butte!”

There are TWO ski-in/ski-out hotels in Crested Butte: Elevation Hotel & Spa & Westwall Lodge.  Westwall is the more expensive & luxurious of the two, but Elevation is also a great option for those on a budget.

• Best Ski Resort on a BUDGET:  Elevation Hotel & Spa sits right at the base of two lifts ~ Red Lady & Silver Queen Express, which get you to all kinds of terrain.
• Best Ski Resort for LUXURY:  Westwall Lodge is where to go for more luxurious accommodations, spacious suites, a year-round heated pool, & of course: direct slope access.
• Best Option for Larger Groups: If you’re traveling with a big group ~ check out home & condo rentals on VRBO.  There are over 50 accommodations in Crested Butte that are listed as ski-in/ski-out….which gives you far more winter lodging choices.

1. Elevation Hotel & Spa = Style on a Budget

Located at the base of Mount Crested Butte, Elevation Hotel & Spa is one of two ski-in/ski-out hotels in town.  Here you’ll find comfortable rooms & suites with flat-screen TV’s, microwaves & mini-fridges.  Some rooms have slope views with private balconies.  Their 9380 Prime Restaurant & Bar serves food all day, & you’ll also find a full-service spa, indoor pool & sauna, gym, plus indoor & outdoor hot tubs.

2. Westwall Lodge = More Luxurious

At the base of Westwall Lift is a fancier option: Westwall Lodge.  Furnishings & ambiance *mountain chic* here, & all rooms have fireplaces, microwaves, & refrigerators.  Many have fantastic views of the slopes.  There’s an on-site Ski Valet, heated underground parking, a year-round heated outdoor pool, hot tubs, tennis courts, room service, & the Alpine Club Bar that’s open daily for apres-ski.  You’ll also find a Fitness Center & massages here.
