Best Ski-in Ski-Out Hotels in Beaver Creek

Back in the day, when I attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, my friends & I spent nearly every winter weekend on the slopes.  The “Epic Pass” cost less than $500 back then ~ & did we get our money’s worth!  Though Vail gets more international buzz: Beaver Creek is one of my favorite Colorado ski resorts.  Its smaller & more intimate than Vail, less overwhelming, with fewer visitors.  And it gets virtually the same amount of snowfall as Vail each year!  To get you right up close to the mountain, here we’ll dig into the best ski-in ski-out hotels in Beaver Creek!

Vail gets more buzz: but Beaver Creek sees far less visitors, is known for its luxury hotels, excellent grooming, & lots of family-friendly terrain.

Do Celebrities Like Beaver Creek?

In case you’re wondering about celebrity-spotting: though Aspen is the flashier, more well-known celebrity haunt in the Colorado mountains ~ Beaver Creek may be just as popular with stars who prefer to fly under the radar.  Kelsey Grammar, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Hanks, Clint Eastwood, & former “Bachelorette” Trista Sutter have all been spotted in this upscale mountain town.

1. The Osprey at Beaver Creek ($189+) = Best VALUE

At The Osprey at Beaver Creek, you’re located directly next to Strawberry Park Express Lift (which takes you to black, blue, AND green runs).  And you’ve got gorgeous, modern rooms for less than $200/night, which wins my award for “Best Value on the Mountain.”  In a town where hotels can set you back a month’s rent: The Osprey is a stand-out.  Amenities include: an outdoor pool, hot tub, heated underground parking, mountain views, great location in the center of the Village, & within walking distance to over 20 restaurants.

Note: This is the absolute closest hotel, other than the Ritz Carlton, to the ski lifts!

Closest Ski Lift: Strawberry Park Express Lift

Everyone wants a hot tub after a long day of skiing: & you’ll find both pool & hot tub at The Osprey.

The Osprey is located directly next to the Strawberry Park Ski Lift at Beaver Creek, which takes you to black, blue, AND green runs.

“Nevermind the ridiculously close proximity to all the lifts & everything you could want to see in the resort, the staff at the Osprey was what made our trip, & we are so grateful.”

2. The Residences at Mountain Lodge ($559) = Perfect for Families!

The Residences at Mountain Lodge (formerly Hyatt Residence Club) is located slightly further from the lifts than The Osprey; you’ll go up just a few escalators to reach them.  BUT: their Ski Valet will take care of all details for you, making the experience seamless.  Rooms are studios, 2 or 3-bedrooms ~ & most come with kitchens.  This is more like staying in a condo than a hotel, hence the higher price tag.  Two families could easily share one of the larger rooms.  Reviews here are near-perfect, even though rooms aren’t the most luxurious: Trip Advisor lists the Resdiences as the #1-Most Highly Rated Resort in Beaver Creek.

Closest Ski Lifts: Elkhorn (back of resort), Strawberry Park, & Centennial Express (gets you closer to the top of the mountain).

In order to reach the slopes, you’ll need to walk through the village & go up a few escalators.

“Go out the door of The Residences & walk about 100 feet towards the Village Center, go up an escalator & you’re right next to the Village Ice Rink, & all shops & restaurants. Short stroll thru the village, up two more escalators & you’re on the mountain!”

3. Beaver Creek Lodge ($160+) = Adult Getaway

Located right in the heart of the Village, Beaver Creek Lodge is just a tiny further walk from the slopes than The Osprey.  This all-suite hotel has more of an adult-vibe than The Residences, & bathrooms are HUGE.  So if that’s your thing, book a room here.  Amenities include: hot tub, pool, sauna, steam room, flat-screen TV’s, ski concierge, private balconies, & fireplaces in most rooms.

But Note: Reviews here aren’t as enthusiastic as other hotels listed; it’s mentioned that their service is lacking at times.

Beaver Creek Lodge has upscale accommodations & a tasteful, modern feel.

Beaver Creek Lodge is centrally located about 100-feet from the lifts. They offer complimentary ski valet, & Christy Sports is located in their building for all tuning & equipment needs.”

4. Park Hyatt Resort & Spa ($599) = Great for Adult Getaway

Located right next to Beaver Creek Lodge, the Park Hyatt Resort & Spa is an even better option for an adult ski retreat.  Rooms are spacious & modern, & both the lobby & sitting areas (which Beaver Creek Lodge lacks) are stunning.  Here, you’ll find a pool, hot tubs, blackout curtains, robes, bar & lounge, babysitting available, massages & other body treatments available in their gorgeous Exhale Spa.  For the discerning customer who wants a massage post-ski & upscale accommodations: book at the Park Hyatt.

The Park Hyatt provides excellent access to the slopes! The valet service for equipment was efficient & made skiing in & out easy. I also spent a day at the spa, which was very relaxing. Breakfast at the hotel was delicious & plenty of options to choose from.”

**5. Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch ($699+) = TRUE LUXURY + Great Bars!

As the only hotel located in Bachelor Gulch (far right side of the mountain), the Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch stands out for its unique location, & ultra-lux feel.  If you love blue & green runs: this is a great place to stay.  Bachelor Gulch lift leads exclusively to blue & green runs.  For more advanced skiers, ski further to the left.  Expect all the same amenities as the resorts above & then some ~ including a world-class spa that’s even ritzier than Park Hyatt’s.

You’re not in the main village here, meaning there are less restaurant options: but the Ritz is known for its FUN bars & eateries (like Wyld & outdoor Daniel’s Fireside Grill).  Even locals & celebrities head here for apres-ski, with killer drinks & views.  Of all the hotels in Beaver Creek, the Ritz Carlton is BY FAR the most likely spot where you’ll run into celebrities!

The Ritz offers a world-class spa for those looking to indulge in total relaxation.

“My partner & I just had a wonderful stay-cation at the Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch. Our experience was perfect! The room was beautiful, on the upper floor with amazing ski views. Restaurants & bars are beyond fantastic. We ate in Wyld and Bill’s & the outside bars several times; each experience was amazing. The staff played a big part in making this stay so fun.

We can’t wait to return!”

If you’re trying to decide which Colorado ski resort to choose this winter, I’ve also written about several other ski resorts.  For more of a party atmosphere, check out Breckenridge; or for one of the closest spots to Denver, try Keystone.  Or check out Beaver Creek’s neighbor Vail, one of my favorite mountains in the world.
