Best Organic Hair Products for Curly Hair
Whether your hair is wavy or curly ~ this article is for you. Both wavy AND curly hair tend to be drier & more prone to frizz issues than straight hair, & when I’m traveling frequently between different climates, this becomes especially noticeable! And if you want to use more natural, chemical-free products for your curly hair, than fixing the frizz can be even trickier. But don’t worry! That’s what this article is all about, as we discuss the “Best Organic Hair Products for Curly Hair!”
Best Organic Hair Products for Curly Hair
For natural hair care meant specifically for curly hair, I’ve only got two words for you: Shea Moisture. Their products smell good, feel good, & manage to keep my beach-blonde hair healthy ~ minus chemicals. Organic Shea Butter is the base for most of their products (hence the name), & though not all their ingredients are certified organic ~ it’s about as close as you can get to truly all-natural in terms of hair products.
For instance, the following ingredients are NEVER in Shea Moisture products:
- NO Parabens
- No Phthalates
- No Mineral Oil
- No Petroleum
- No Formaldehyde
Which Product is Best for You?
How do you know which Shea Moisture product is right for your hair? Take a look at the graph below, determine how “kinky” your curl is, then scroll down to see which products are best for your hair type. The curlier the hair ~ the more moisture it needs. And vice versa: the straighter the hair, the lighter you’ll want the product to be.
The only Shea Moisture product that isn’t on the chart above that I’m a HUGE fan of, is their “Frizz Defense” line ~ especially their Frizz Defense Hair Masque. It has saved me from many horrendous hair situations, including when my hair went full-on swamp monster at the Blue Lagoon in Iceland! The “Frizz Defense” line has NO protein in it, which was necessary to fix my “Blue Lagoon” hair, & I use this deep conditioner whenever my hair feels extremely damaged or dry.
That hair chart is super helpful! I just moved to a much more humid climate, and my hair has gotten wavier as a result – so I’ve been looking for some good natural products for curly hair. I think I’m going to try the coconut for every day and the Frizz Defense Mask for once a week : ) Thanks for writing!
Hey Dani! I think that sounds like a winning combination ~ my hair is soo missing the Frizz Defense mask, it’s going in my Amazon cart right now! Ha good luck & lmk how these products work for you! xoxo Noelia
