Best Flameless Candles for Indoor & Outdoor

My friend & I were shopping at Pottery Barn over the holidays, & came across one of our favorite items: gorgeous flameless candles.  They turn on, by themselves, every 24 hours: you just set the timer, & program them to stay on for a certain amount of time.  The only difference?  My flameless candles are from Amazon, & cost a fraction of what Pottery Barn’s cost!  You can get NINE candles on Amazon for about $25 ~ which is a steal.  These candles have lasted for six years: & there’s nothing wrong with them!  Here we’ll discuss the best flameless candles for indoor and outdoor use….

I love using flameless candles outside ~ but you have to get the right ones (so they don’t melt)!

What Candles Do I Use?

For indoor use, these are the exact flameless candles I’ve bought on Amazon over 10 times!  They come with a little remote that you can program to turn on at the same time each day.  For outdoor use: these candles WON’T melt in the sun!!

And I’ve also kept them out in freezing weather just fine…

Best Flameless Candles for Indoors

For indoor use, I prefer prettier candles that actually flicker ~ which makes them look very realistic.  These should not be used outside, as I’ve found that if the temperatures reach over 85-90 degrees, they will melt.  But for indoor use, mine have lasted six years with no issues.

All you’ll need to do is replace the batteries every few months.

I love having ambient light in my home: & these lanterns + flameless candles add great ambience, especially in the winter…

Best Flameless Candles for Outdoor Use

For outdoor use, you’ll want tougher candles that can withstand temperature variations.  In Bend, Oregon where I live: our temperaturess range anywhere from -10 degrees to 108!  This is a wild swing, & I’ve seen many indoor candles melt outside.  But then I found Candle Choice.  These candles have lasted for years, through all kinds of temperature changes.

The only downside: they don’t come with a remote.  Whenever you turn them on: they’ll stay on for 6 hours, & then shut off for 18 hours.  But for outdoor use, this has been fine for me.

Best Flameless Tea Lights

I’ve tried several different fake tea lights over the years: most aren’t great.  Many have a cold white light & aren’t rechargeable ~ so they eventually stop working.  Unlike WoneNice Rechargeable Tea Lights, which come with their own charging station.  No batteries necessary!

And they give off a much warmer light, making them look much more realistic.

It’s important to note that the flameless candles mentioned here provide ambient light: but not enough light to read by.  If you’re looking for a light strong enough to read by: try these powerful, portable table lamps.  I use them in my She Shed, which doesn’t have any electricity.

Two of them light the whole shed ~ they’re very bright lights!
