Let Go & Relax on the Road…

Today’s workout is all about relaxing & letting go.  We’re going to start with a quick session for our arms & abs, then move on to a slow, deep 20-minute yin yoga session, allowing our muscles to completely relax.   Yin yoga is a style of yoga that holds the postures for 1-2 minutes, much longer than in a traditional yoga class.  So it’s not about getting the heart rate up ~ it’s about slowing down & letting go of the tension that can get locked into our muscles.

This is a perfect routine to do on a day when you’re just too tired to go to the gym ~ on a Netflix-kind-of-day.  On a personal note, I’ve been traveling all this week ~ in cars, planes, trains & Ubers, saying goodbye to family & friends in the States, & getting my bearings here in Costa Rica.  I woke up sore, tired, & a little drained this morning.  This workout is perfect for those kind of days.

Saturday’s Workout ~ Yin Yoga

Today’s Workout has 3 parts: 1) Tracy Anderson Arms, to warm us up & get the blood pumping (if you did Tracy arms with me yesterday, you’ll definitely feel this today) 2) Tone it Up’s “Bikini Abs,” & 3) Boho Beautiful’sYin Yoga Class.”  At the end of the routine, I’m including a **Bonus “Letting Go Meditation,” also by Boho Beautiful, for those who would like to meditate.

If you don’t have time to do all the workouts, pick the one that looks the most fun ~ or that is most needed.  If you want to do just one, small thing to shift your mood today ~ listen to the “Letting Go Meditation.”

Total Workout Time = 42 minutes (52 minutes with meditation)

1) Tracy Anderson Arms!

Start with this 9-minute arm series.  It may seem “odd” or “strange” at first ~ but just let your body move & get warmed up.  After you’ve done it a few times, you’ll start to get used to the “strange” arm motions : )


2) Tone it Up ~ “Bikini Abs!”

One of my go-to ab routines ~ no matter what level you are, you will feel this!


3) Boho Beautiful ~ Yin Yoga

Slow it down here with this yin yoga session.  Any time you feel discomfort or tightness in the muscle, stop there, breathe, & do your best to relax.  You should never feel pain ~ so back off if you do, & move to a position where you can breathe comfortably.  Most of all ~ enjoy this practice : )


 

**Letting Go Meditation by Boho Beautiful**

After the yin routine, when your body is calm & relaxed ~ now is the perfect time to meditate.  As yin yoga is about releasing the tension in your body, this “Letting Go” meditation is about releasing the tension in your mind.  In both cases, you are letting go of that which no longer serves you.  If you have never mediated before, this is a great place to start.
